For Your Information: Dunham FAQs during the coronavirus shutdown

Frequently Asked Questions during the coronavirus shutdown:

What if I have an item that is overdue?

Please note: Due Dates for materials are extended to 7/1/20, all holds have been suspended until 7/1/20 and the “Hold Pickup By” date has been extended to 7/1/20. While we eagerly look forward to reopening and being here for you again, if you have library materials, you are welcome to drop them off in the book drop by our main entrance or hold on to the items until we reopen. You will not be penalized for late items.

How long will Dunham Public Library be closed?
At this time, we just don’t know. Governor Cuomo has reported that reopening the state will be done in phases, so hopefully soon. As new information becomes known, we will continually reassess and keep you apprised on our reopening date.

Will there be more AARP tax preparation dates at Dunham?

Once our library has reopened, we look forward to hearing from AARP and possibly getting a couple new tax preparation dates scheduled before the final tax filing date of July 15. What AARP plans to do is up to them and as soon as we know, the information will be shared.

What library resources can I access while library locations are closed?
So many! Services like Hoopla, RB Digital and Overdrive/Libby allow you to access eBooks, eAudiobooks, streaming movies, digital magazines, and newspapers are available 24/7. In addition, we offer many opportunities for eLearning, such as Transparent Language and Tumblebooks–build valuable job skills or work on your resume, get one-on-one tutoring and homework help, all from your home. If you have any questions about your account or how to access digital resources, you are always welcome to email us at whref@midyork.org. You may also call 315-736-9734 extension 209 and leave a voice mail

Can I drop off my materials in outdoor book drops?
If you wish to return items, we ask that you drop them off in the book drop right next to our main entrance as the outdoor book drop and the book drop next to our western foyer entrance are both closed.

Thank you for your support and understanding. We are looking forward to welcoming you back through our doors when we reopen.
