Chess has much to offer elementary level students as evidenced by the National Association of Secondary School Principals including the National Scholastic K-12 Grade Chess Championships on its “National Advisory List of Contests and Activities”. Numerous studies have recognized the educational value that comes from Chess.
Phillippe is an active member of the Dunham Public Library Chess Club, the only organized Chess activity in the Mohawk Valley. The Dunham Public Library Chess Club congratulates Laroche on his scholastic tournament success.
