What We Are Reading, Listening to and Viewing
Monthly we will be publishing a listing of the most circulated titles within the library for the previous month. There are six categories with the top "seller" being listed first in each category and the number of times that title has been checked out. Perhaps you might be interested in reading, listening to or viewing these resources as well.
Here are the listings for April:
Communication Direct to Your Inbox
Dunham Public Library, in cooperation with other area libraries and the Mid York Library System, is offering a new service. You can receive an email when items are ready for pickup at the library and also receive a courtesy reminder email three days before items are due.
| How Do I Apply for a Library Card? |
|
Adult and juvenile users must apply in person at the Library and present valid identification to obtain a card. Accepted forms of identification include your valid Driver’s License, Passport, military ID, sheriff’s ID or other documents with name and current address.
Applications for children ages 17 and under must be completed in person at the Library and require the signature of a parent or guardian with valid identification and proof of address. They also must be able to affix their own name on an application.
Cards expire in three years and are renewable.
Please read the Library Card Terms and Conditions on both the Application Form and the Library Card.
About Your Home Library
You are able to use all libraries in the Mid-York Library system with your new library card. However, most people find that there is a Library which they will use most often. This is your home library. If you choose to reserve items in the Library catalog, this is the Library where you will pick up those reserved materials.
It is important that you give some thought to what Library you consider to be your home Library because your home Library will make its new items available first to its own patrons. Otherwise, although you may check out any items which are available on the Library shelves, you will not be able to reserve items designated as NEW until a lengthy period of time has passed. That period of time is six months for books and twelve months for DVDs.
When you complete your application for a library card, please ensure that the librarian who assists you knows if you wish your home library to be one other than Dunham Public Library. |
