Ancestry.com: the World's Most Popular Genealogy Resource

Ancestry.com Library Edition is one of the most important genealogical collections available today. It has unparalleled coverage of the United States and the United Kingdom, including census, vital, church, court, and immigration records, as well as record collections from Canada and other areas.

This collection has more than 4,000 databases and two billion names, and its valuable content is a strong complement to HeritageQuest Online. Its 4,000 databases include key collections such as U.S. Federal Census images and indexes from 1790 to 1930; the Map Center containing more than 1,000 historical maps; American Genealogical Biographical Index (over 200 volumes); Daughters of the American Revolution Lineage (over 150 volumes); The Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England, 1620-1630; Social Security Death Index (updated monthly); WWI Draft Registration Cards; Federal Slave Narratives; and a strong Civil War collection. In the coming year, still more indexes and original images will be added to the new Immigration collection.

Ancestry.com Library Edition also offers an online library of periodicals and newspapers. You will also find a link to Ancestry World Tree which allows patrons to keep track of their family tree and to share it with others.

Every Library computer has a desktop shortcut which takes you directly to the Ancestry homepage. Ancestry is also available in the library via the Library’s wireless network. If you bring in your own laptop computer, you can access it from this URL: http://ancestrylibrary.proquest.comYou must use a library card issued by Dunham Public Library. Whether you are just starting out in genealogy or are a seasoned veteran, Dunham Public Library has the information you need.
